Alignment And Shabbat Candles

At the Spa for the Soul event, each woman took home a pair of Shabbat candles sticks. Of course they matched the table settings, but more importantly, they fit the theme of the event.
Tzivie shared the meaning of “alignment”, as follows: The goal of every Jewish teaching is to helps us get in touch with, identify with, and to align ourselves with our divine soul- and to live a life that is guided by and sanctified by the convictions of our truest self.

And so each pair of Shabbat candles included a note that read:
Lighting Shabbat candles is an opportunity of attunement with you Divine Soul.
A mindful moment of presence, alignment and inner peace.
And the immediate consequence?
The room becomes brighter.
Alignment has that effect. Every single time.
Even when it’s not as visible as candle light.

(As for misalignment, that is the result of pursuing the convictions of our ego (our animal soul consciousness). Sometime we need the objective eyes of a mentor or friend to help us with unblending the noise of the ego (externally imposed notions of what we think is good for us!) and the voice of our most authentic self- our G-dly soul consciousness.)
The silence in those moments of alignment (like when we light Shabbat candles) can also help us hear our inner, authentic voice.
Try it out tonight. Shabbat candle lighting time in Clark County is 8:17 PM.

Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom.
